Position Description

Position Overview:

Under general direction, the Senior Management Analyst is responsible for performing complex professional-level projects that require a high degree of specialized knowledge. Conducts research, provides data, makes recommendations, and implements solutions to achieve project goals and objectives. May exercise supervision over assigned staff.

Job Duties:

  • Undertakes special project efforts assigned by the Management Team.
  • Performs efficiency improvement analysis on certain County functions and services.
  • Performs specialized analysis, including cost of service and performance evaluation, and makes recommendations for solutions to problems.
  • Assists departments in compiling, organizing, and presenting proposals to the Management Team.
  • Coordinates projects and activities between various divisions, County departments, public agencies, and/or private sector representatives.
  • Seeks and evaluates information from a variety of sources and provides specialized reports as requested by the management.
  • Oversees coordination between divisions/departments throughout the duration of projects.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations.
  • Coordinates and prepares reports and correspondence in response to requests.
  • Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience:

  • Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in business, management, or a related field..

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs)

  • Knowledge of project management principles, procurements, and delivery methods.
  • Knowledge of administrative principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of report development, presentation practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of public administration practices and local government issues.
  • Skill in utilizing a personal computer and associated software programs.
  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard and other basic office equipment.
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations in support of goals.
  • Ability to interpret and apply Federal, State, and local policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
  • Ability to implement policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management, and the public.

Preferences

Education:

  • A master's degree in public administration, Management, Business Administration, or a related field is highly desirable.

Experience:

  • Experience in public administration and local governance is preferred.

General Information

Position Type, And Typical Hours Of Work:

Full-Time | Regular | 40 hours per week.

Subject to early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays at times, depending upon the project or workload.

Salary: Commensurate experience, based on 26 pay periods.

Physical Demands And Environmental Exposure:

Most assignments will be performed in an office, meeting, or operations command center environment, but some field work may be required. May be required to work extended work hours during activation of disaster recovery operations for an unspecified length of time (varies based on the extent of the event).

This position requires bending, stooping, and lifting to 25 lbs., frequent walking, standing, sitting, reaching, and ascending/descending stairs. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
