AMSC is seeking a
Senior Technical Accountant, SEC Reporting & Consolidations.
This person will be responsible for SEC reporting, monthly consolidations including ensuring appropriate intercompany eliminations and assisting with preparing technical accounting memos on complex accounting judgments while maintaining and ensuring compliance with corporate-wide accounting policies, procedures and related internal controls. The individual will also be responsible for supporting and advising the business and assisting the legal team during contract negotiations on potential revenue recognition issues.
Functions:
- Preparation of SEC filings and supporting documentation
- Review and approve all disclosure support schedules provided by subsidiaries
- Preparation of financial statements and supporting information, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow
- Manage the monthly consolidation process in Oracle, including reconciliation of intercompany eliminations
- Assist business in identifying and resolving accounting issues as required
- Draft accounting policies for new accounting pronouncements and ensure that existing policies reflect current accounting guidance
- Oversee process to ensure all required documentation and reviews are maintained for revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, including necessary SEC disclosures
- Analyze open Accounts Receivable for potential Bad Debt Reserves
- Maintain proper credit levels for customers in Oracle, run credit reports as needed
- Record monthly stock compensation expense and analyze related quarterly activity, including a reconciliation of Equity Edge stock administration portal to Equiniti stock transfer agent portal.
- Prepare quarterly Earnings Per Share and Stockholders Equity statements
- Manage third party international accounting firm to review reporting packages and generate activity to be uploaded to Oracle for consolidations
- Manage all lease accounting through Lease Query software
- Ensure compliance with all SOX controls
- Support auditor requests for quarterly and year end reviews as well as walkthroughs and SOX testing
- Provide technical accounting support in the application of U.S. GAAP as needed.
- Assist with ad hoc special projects as needed
Education - Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
- Master's Degree or CPA preferred
- Three to Five years of related experience
- Experience researching and resolving complex technical accounting issues for both U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting
- Experience working with concepts, practices, and procedures in areas of responsibility
- Public Accounting/CPA experience is a plus

Salary : $80,000 - $120,000
