(Hybrid: onsite expected once a week)
Important Note:
This role will remain a part-time engagement for the duration of the assignment. No changes to this arrangement are planned. Candidates must be aware of and agree to these terms prior to submission.
Job Description:
The Project Manager will provide project management oversight for the design, configuration, staff training, and implementation of a replacement licensing and management system, along with internal support for required Virginia Information Technology Agency (VITA) processes.
Responsibilities include leading team members through process mapping and requirements gathering, serving as the day-to-day point of contact for the project, and overseeing all phases of system implementation. The Project Manager will also oversee user acceptance testing, certify readiness for deployment, and ensure the solution is fully implemented as planned.
Additional responsibilities include change management, vendor management, project closeout activities, schedule tracking, status reporting, and coordination of project team members and responsibilities. The role requires maintaining project timelines, budgeting estimates, and communication with executive leadership and board stakeholders while ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.

- PMP certification through PMI required.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated experience with effective team building and communication.
- Experience implementing SaaS or PaaS solutions.
- Strong vendor management experience.
- Experience supporting planning, development, and validation of functional and technical requirements for IT solution implementations.
- Knowledge of Commonwealth of Virginia policies, standards, procedures, and practices related to VITA.
- Experience managing project schedules, timelines, budgets, and status reporting.
- Experience leading system implementation and user acceptance testing activities.
