Interim Director, Emergency Department Needed in Arizona!

The Position

• An Interim Director, Emergency Department is needed to provide strategic and operational leadership for a busy emergency department in a high-acuity setting.
• Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, this leader will oversee 100 FTEs.
• Key responsibilities include improving department flow and throughput, reducing length of stay, mentoring a new manager, and strengthening accountability and urgency across the department.
• The ideal candidate will have strong emergency department leadership experience in fast-paced hospital environments, with a demonstrated ability to improve patient flow, mentor emerging leaders, and drive operational performance. Must be highly organized, patient-focused, and able to adapt quickly to changing needs. Excellent communication skills will be critical.
• Must be available to start within 2-3 weeks of acceptance.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Active RN license required.
• At least five years of progressive emergency department leadership experience required, including experience in a high-volume acute care setting; prior experience improving throughput and length of stay metrics strongly preferred.

Compensation Details

• Compensation Range: $160,000 to $175,000 annually.
• The final compensation rate will be determined based on experience, education, training, location, internal equity, and budget considerations, in accordance with Fair Market Value evaluation. Additionally, some candidates may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, depending on the specific role, including but not limited to health insurance coverage and retirement benefits.
• The listed base compensation range represents a good faith estimate of potential earnings at the time of this job posting and may be subject to future adjustments.
