PAY RATE: $500/Week (June 8th to August 7th ONLY) HOURS: 20 Hours/Week

Our free Summer Camp at Citrus Grove Elementary serves children ages 6–12 from families with limited financial means. We are committed to providing a safe, structured, and enriching environment where every child can thrive throughout the summer months.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Youth Services or the Youth Service Site Coordinatorthe Summer Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized facility throughout the duration of the summer camp program. This position plays an essential role in ensuring that all indoor and outdoor spaces used by program participants meet health, safety, and cleanliness standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Cleans and sanitizes all program areas daily, including classrooms, restrooms, hallways, common areas, and outdoor spaces used by summer camp participants.
- Sweeps, mops, vacuums, and disinfects floors, surfaces, and high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, and tables throughout each shift.
- Empties and disposes of trash and recycling in all program areas and replaces liners as needed.
- Ensures restrooms are fully stocked with soap, paper towels, and toilet paper at all times and reports supply shortages to the Director of Youth Services.
- Sets up and breaks down program spaces, furniture, and equipment as directed by program staff.
- Inspects facility areas for potential safety hazards such as spills, damaged furniture, or debris, and addresses or reports issues promptly.
- Responds to immediate cleaning needs during program hours, including spills, accidents, or other sanitation concerns involving children.
- Properly stores, labels, and handles all cleaning supplies and chemicals in accordance with safety regulations and organizational policies.
- Monitors and reports any facility maintenance issues, including plumbing, lighting, or structural concerns, to the Director of Youth Services.
- Supports program staff with logistical tasks as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Maintains a clean and organized supply closet and submits requests for cleaning supplies as inventory runs low.
- Adheres to all health and safety protocols established by Amigos For Kids and the host facility.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful applicants must be of good moral character and reputation. Must be capable of accepting training, carrying out assigned tasks, communicating orally and in writing, communicating with emergency personnel, and understanding instructions. Must be at least 18 years of age. Prior experience in custodial, janitorial, or facilities maintenance work is preferred, particularly in a school or child-serving environment.
Must:
- Agree to fingerprinting and a Level 2 background
- Submit to random drug testing as determined by Amigos For Kids personnel policies and procedures.
- Agree to attend staff development and
- Sign an Affidavit of Good Moral Character
- Have NEVER been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor related to abuse, neglect, exploitation, or other barrier crimes as listed on the Sworn Disclosure Statement of the Criminal Record Check
- Provide references as
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This position requires a person who can work in a fast-paced, child-centered environment while maintaining focus and attention to cleanliness and safety.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high during program hours.
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors at the camp facility.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and solutions; proper use of personal protective equipment is required.

Monday – Friday 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm
