PAY RATE: $500/Week (June 8th to August 7th ONLY) HOURS: 20 Hours/Week

Our free Summer Camp at Citrus Grove Elementary serves children ages 6–12 from families with limited financial means. We are committed to providing a safe, structured, and enriching environment where every child can thrive throughout the summer months.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Youth Services or the Youth Service Site Coordinator, the Front Security is responsible for monitoring and controlling access to the summer camp premises to ensure the safety and security of all children, staff, and authorized visitors. This position serves as the first line of defense in maintaining a secure environment and plays a critical role in the protection of program participants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Controls access to the facility by monitoring all entry and exit points, ensuring that only authorized individuals are permitted to enter the premises.
- Verifies the identity of all adults seeking entry by checking government-issued identification and cross-referencing with the authorized pick-up list on file for each child.
- Ensures that children do not leave the premises unsupervised or with an unauthorized individual at any time.
- Monitors the arrival and dismissal process, confirming that each child is signed in by an authorized adult upon arrival and signed out by an authorized adult upon departure.
- Maintains a visitor log documenting the name, purpose of visit, time of entry, and time of exit for all individuals entering the facility.
- Patrols the perimeter of the facility during program hours to detect and prevent unauthorized access, trespassing, or any safety threats.
- Monitors and secures all doors, gates, and windows to prevent unauthorized entry or exit.
- Responds promptly to security incidents, disturbances, or emergencies and notifies the Director of Youth Services and, when appropriate, law enforcement or emergency personnel.
- Administers basic first aid when needed and facilitates the involvement of paramedics or emergency services as required.
- Communicates effectively with program staff regarding any security concerns, suspicious activity, or incidents involving children or visitors.
- Documents all incidents, accidents, complaints, and security concerns and submits written reports to the Director of Youth Services.
- Enforces all program rules and safety protocols in a calm, professional, and child-friendly manner.
- Maintains a visible and reassuring presence at the front entrance to deter unauthorized access and provide a welcoming environment for children and families.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful applicants must be of good moral character and reputation. Must be capable of accepting training, carrying out assigned tasks, communicating orally and in writing, communicating with emergency personnel, and understanding instructions. Must have a high school diploma or GED and be at least 18 years of age. Prior experience in in security, law enforcement, military, or a child-serving environment is strongly preferred.
Must:
- Agree to fingerprinting and a Level 2 background
- Submit to random drug testing as determined by Amigos For Kids personnel policies and procedures.

- Sign an Affidavit of Good Moral Character
- Have NEVER been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor related to abuse, neglect, exploitation, or other barrier crimes as listed on the Sworn Disclosure Statement of the Criminal Record Check
- Provide references as
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, crouch, speak, and hear.
- Ability to lift, carry, pull, or otherwise move objects between 10 and 30 pounds.
- Ability to respond quickly and move throughout the facility as needed in emergency situations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This position requires a person who can work in a fast-paced, child-centered environment with many distractions and interruptions while maintaining alertness and professionalism.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
- Work is performed primarily outdoors and indoors at the camp facility.
WORK LOCATIONS:
Citrus Grove Elementary School (2121 NW 5th St, Miami, FL 33125);
Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 11:30 am.
