Description
Join our incredible team at The Pet Hospital of Tierrasanta as the next great step in your career. We are looking to add a full-time Veterinary Assistant to our team. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, detail-oriented team player who loves animals and is part of a fun, supportive team. They will have experience rooming patients, a willingness to learn and expand their career, knowledge of equipment used, drawing blood and running bloodwork, knowledge of x-rays and proper positioning, experience with proper animal handling and restraint, understanding the importance of client education, and being a positive and supportive team member.
The Pet Hospital of Tierrasanta is a 3-doctor hospital open from 8 am - 6 pm Monday through Friday, and 8:30 am - 5:30 pm on Saturday, closed on Sundays. The Pet Hospital of Tierrasanta aims to provide owners with sound, honest choices for their pets and to provide our patients with excellent quality medicine and compassionate medical care. We strive to give our customers the best personalized service possible and to create a friendly, professional work environment for our awesome staff!
The salary band for this position is $19.00 - $23.00, depending on experience, education, licensure, and certifications.
Requirements
- Must be available on Saturdays
- 1 years of veterinary experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Passion for working with animals and their owners
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
- Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
Qualifications
Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines.
Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records.
Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
