Veterinary Assistant

We are currently looking to hire Veterinary Assistants to join our team at PetDocks Veterinary Hospital in Morehead City, North Carolina.

• Salary: $17.00 – 20.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.
• Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts, Monday-Friday. Hospital is closed on the weekends, but some boarding/kennel shifts are required.
• Location: 5307 Hwy 70 W, Morehead City, NC 28557

Who You Are:

If you are that veterinary assistant who is looking for an exciting, no day ever the same, fast-paced, fun, energetic veterinary hospital then we look forward to hearing from you!

• 1 years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary assistant
• Understands the importance of excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
• Passion for working with animals and their owners
• Familiarity with Cornerstone or ProVet preferred
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint of a variety of species
• Ability to perform nursing care in a veterinary hospital setting
• Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
• Basic understanding of common medications, vaccinations, and preventatives
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments per doctor orders
• Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
• Ensure a clean, safe and organized work environment
