What are the responsibilities and job description for the PennServe Community Resource Navigators position at AmeriCorps?
Assist individuals and families with accessing food, housing, mental health, and income resources. Walk individuals through completing service applications or sitting with them while they make calls. Meet with local food banks, financial literacy organizations, housing agencies, schools, CareerLink, and behavioral health services. Offer workshops on topics to improve economic opportunity. Collect data on enrollment dates, services requested, meeting dates, services accessed, and workshops hosted. School based – serve students disengaged from school, experiencing a known hardship, accessing basic needs.
Member Duties : Poised to serve at different nonprofits and offer a deeper level of support and connections to community resources and staff members employed at host sites. 12 members serving 20-30 hrs/week Program Manager will hold virtual weekly team meetings and will conduct in person site visits 1x per month to meet with member and site supervisor. Program starts August/September 2023 – 11-month term. All members are eligible for enrollment in Healthiest You which provides FREE visits with health care providers, mental health counselors, & nutrition experts.
