Ending Hunger Corps, a program of the Maine Bureau of Agriculture, partners with organizations throughout the State to meet our goal of ending hunger in Maine. Our Host Sites offer trained supervisors and site specific training to assist the Member in achieving service goals. The Summer Associate – Ending Hunger Corps Resource VISTA serving at Alan Day Community Garden will join a statewide cohort that provides training, professional development, guidance, community and collaboration. To date, over 152, 000 Mainers have reported greater food security due to Ending Hunger Corps Members – make your impact with us!
Member Duties : The Summer Associate – Ending Hunger Corps Resource VISTA serving at Alan Day Community Garden will learn the resources and needs of the community to create physical and social media to educate those in need on means of access to fresh, healthy local food through community forums, written materials, and instruction of applicable technology. The Member’s service will increase food access in Maine by collecting, analyzing, and developing pathways to overcome barriers to healthy local foods available from farms, farmers markets, youth programs, senior centers, and other areas. To promote sustainability, the Member will assemble information learned to enhance future programming.
