Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Medical-Surgical Direct Observation Unit position at a teaching hospital, requiring strong vasoactive drip experience and PCU background.
Details
- Work in a 2 East Clinical Decision/Observation Unit at a short-term acute care, teaching hospital with 332 staffed beds
- MS/Telemetry patient population in an observation unit setting
- Charting via Epic EMR
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Floating required across all 3 affiliated hospitals (Martin North, Martin South, and Tradition – all within approximately 20 miles)
- Block scheduling is not available for this position
- 26-week contract
Requirements
- Active FL RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
- Current AHA or American Red Cross BLS and ACLS certifications required at time of consideration
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification must be obtained prior to start
- Minimum 18 months of telemetry and/or acute care experience required; 2 years preferred
- PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience required
- Strong vasoactive drip experience required
- Two professional references required
- Valid driver's license and Social Security card required
- Must be nicotine-free — a negative 10-panel drug screen including nicotine (cotinine) is required

- This is a smoke-free and nicotine-free facility — no exceptions
- Time-sensitive onboarding modules must be prioritized and completed promptly upon assignment confirmation
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront — any RTO added after submission will likely not be approved
- White scrubs are required
