Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a small critical access hospital in Springfield, VT, requiring PCU experience and drip proficiency on an adaptive acuity unit.
Details
- Work setting is a small critical access hospital with a 25-bed unit
- This is an adaptive acuity unit — travelers will periodically be required to provide PCU-level care at a 3:1 patient ratio
- Standard Med/Surg Tele patient ratio is 1:5
- Drip experience required, including insulin, esmolol, and sodium drips
- 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required; holiday coverage required as needed
- Floating to any inpatient unit within scope of practice is required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Vermont RN license or Compact RN license required
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of current Med/Surg Tele experience required
- PCU/Progressive Care Unit experience strongly required
- Drip experience required, including insulin, esmolol, and sodium drips
- Minimum 3 months of prior travel nursing experience required — non-negotiable
- ICU experience strongly preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Small critical access facility experience preferred
- Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment
- 1 supervisory signed reference from within the past 2 years of employment required
- PCU, Med/Surg, and Telemetry skills checklists (current within 1 year) required for consideration
Additional Information
- PCU-level care assignments on this adaptive acuity unit are non-negotiable and may not be refused
- All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application — RTO requests will not be approved after submission or during the interview process
- No more than 5 days of RTO will be accepted for this assignment
