Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - First Assistant (RNFA) with required CVOR experience and proficient endoscopic vein harvesting skills for a hospital-based OR position with significant call and weekend requirements.
Details
- Hospital-based Operating Room with a focus on cardiovascular surgery (CVOR)
- Primary responsibilities center on cardiac cases with float coverage to general OR including orthopedic, vascular, gynecologic, thoracic, and general surgeries when cardiac cases are not scheduled
- Endoscopic vein harvesting is a core component of this role
- Day shift schedule: either 8-hour shifts (7:00 AM–3:30 PM) or 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM–5:30 PM), 40 hours per week
- Call requirement of 12–18 days per month
- Weekend requirement of 2–3 weekends per month
Requirements
- Active RN license in Michigan (MI) required
- Current BLS certification required
- CVOR experience required
- Proficient endoscopic vein harvesting skills required
- RNFA or Surgical Technologist First Assistant (STFA) credentials accepted
- Minimum 5 years of experience strongly preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
Additional Information
- Candidates must demonstrate proficiency ratings of 3 or higher in both vein harvesting and cardiac areas
- STFA candidates are eligible to apply and will be considered at a different rate
- First Assist coverage spans multiple surgical specialties when not assigned to cardiac cases
