Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg night shift position in Roswell, NM, requiring 2 years of experience and a valid NM or compact RN license.
Details
- General Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting, including some post-op orthopedic and general surgery patients
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Patient ratio is typically 1:6, occasionally 1:7
- Uses Cerner EMR and Mindray Telemetry System
- Floating to other units (including ICU for Med/Surg overflow or Step Down patients) is required but rarely needed
- Call is required on an as-needed basis based on census, but is rarely utilized and not an additional call requirement beyond scheduled shifts
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active NM or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience required
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- All certifications must be valid for at least 30 days beyond the contract start date
- Valid U.S. driver's license required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Fingerprinting is required for all travelers working in New Mexico — this process can take several weeks, so early initiation is strongly encouraged
- Scrub color: Royal Blue
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
- RTO requests of less than 1 week may be accommodated
