Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Orthopedic Surgery position in Alamogordo, NM, requiring at least 1 year of recent ortho experience and an active NM or compact RN license.

- Specialty Orthopedic Surgery unit within a hospital setting
- Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license in NM or via compact licensure required
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
- Minimum 1 year of recent orthopedic nursing experience required
- BSN preferred
- US Social Security Number required for consideration
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- Active, non-expired copies of all certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers
- Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed
