Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical/Surgical unit position requiring a minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg experience and an active Michigan RN license.
Details
- Work in a 37-bed Medical/Surgical unit at an acute care hospital
- Patient population includes general medical diagnoses with specialties in GI, urological, and gynecological surgeries, as well as ortho/neurovascular, cardio/pulmonary, and oncology patients
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, with 36 or 48-hour week options available
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6 on nights; may flex to 1:8 with LPN support
- Floating to other Med/Surg units required, typically once per week based on staffing needs
- Every other weekend required
- Block scheduling is not available at this time
Requirements
- Active Michigan RN license required (pending license accepted with ETA provided)
- Current BLS certification (AHA); pending accepted with confirmed willingness to obtain
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required; 2 years preferred
Additional Information
- Full availability required for the first two weeks of orientation
- Must be comfortable working alongside a multidisciplinary team including RNs, LPNs, and Techs
- Holiday coverage is required; time-off requests during holidays must remain flexible to accommodate staffing needs
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
