Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology RN for a 12-week travel contract at a Level II Trauma acute care hospital, requiring active chemotherapy certification and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Work in the Oncology unit of a 426-bed, short-term acute care hospital that is part of the Yale New Haven Health System
- Level II Trauma Center facility
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
- Every other weekend rotation required
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Floating to other Med/Surg units required as needed
- Charting performed in Epic (experience required)
- Free parking available on-site
Requirements
- Active CT or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, NIHSS, and Chemotherapy (ONS/ONCC)
- Chemotherapy administration certification required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Candidates must not have any disciplinary actions or priors on their nursing license
- Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide oncology nursing care including chemotherapy administration to patients in an acute care setting
- Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
- COVID vaccine required; religious or medical exemptions are accepted
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved by the facility
