Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Neuro night shift position in Portland, ME, requiring neurosurgical experience and an active ME or compact RN license.
Details
- Hospital-based position on a 26-bed Neuro/Ortho/Trauma surgical unit (R6)
- Patient population includes neurosurgical patients (spinal surgery, spine fractures, brain tumors), seizure disorders, VP shunts, head bleeds, traumatic injuries, and joint replacement surgery
- Patient ratios are 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required as needed, with a 25-mile float policy between facilities
- EMR: Epic
Requirements
- Active ME or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Neuro/neurosurgical experience required
- BLS certification required
- Driver's license required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- 2 professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- 13-week contract
- Scrub color: any; professional appearance must be maintained at all times
- Use of AirPods, laptops, and cell phones on the unit is prohibited
- Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (in Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local and may be subject to a different bill rate
- Local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
- Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this prior to consideration
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
