Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU night shift position requiring a MD or Compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of CVICU/open heart experience.
Details
- Work in an 8-bed Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) within a hospital setting
- Patient population includes adults to geriatrics with diagnoses such as cardiac surgery (CABG, valve, CABG/valve), CAD (STEMI, NSTEMI), AFib with RVR, cardiogenic shock, peripheral bypasses, EVAR, and VATS
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2, with 1:1 care required during the first 12 hours post-op for cardiac surgery patients
- Specialized procedures include immediate post-op cardiac surgery care, vent management with respiratory therapy, Flo Trac, CRRT, IABP, Impella, and groin/radial artery management (fem stop, TR bands)
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:30–08:00
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required PRN to IMC (1:3 ratio) and within specialty, other units, and sister facilities within scope
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active RN license for Maryland (MD state or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU and/or open heart experience required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include immediate post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients and management of advanced cardiac support devices
- Holiday coverage required as scheduled
- Navy scrubs preferred
- First-time travelers with extensive CVICU/open heart experience (2 years) will be considered
- Any time-off requests must be disclosed upfront for consideration
