American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring charge nurse capability and Cerner experience on night shifts.
Details- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Weekend availability required
- Charge nurse duties required approximately 1–2 shifts per week; in most cases (~90% of the time), the charge nurse is not counted in staffing ratios unless there are call-ins or unexpected staffing needs
- Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
- Cerner charting required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Active Indiana (IN) or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; AHA and RQI formats accepted
- Minimum 2 years of PCU or relevant RN experience required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- RN degree from a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation
- 2 supervisor professional references required
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Serve as charge nurse approximately 1–2 shifts per week, providing unit leadership and oversight
- Must be willing and able to take charge nurse assignments
- Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignment
- Local candidates (Indiana residents) are not eligible for this position
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have a 12-month break in employment before applying as a traveler
- Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break; in-state residents require a 180-day break
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
