American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/Endovascular position in a brand-new hybrid cath lab/OR room at a Level II Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital in Rapid City, SD, requiring cath lab experience and Epic proficiency.
Details- Work is performed in a brand-new hybrid cath lab/OR room (CVOR unit) within a 417-bed, Level II Trauma, Magnet-designated, primary stroke teaching hospital in Rapid City, SD
- Caseload is approximately 1–2 cases per day
- Adult patient population with procedures including TCAR, TEVAR, EVAR, TAVR, TMVR, aortoiliac femoral femoral angiogram, and femoral bypass (open and closed procedures)
- Role does not involve recovering or prepping patients
- May float within the Cath Lab to assist with peripheral and structural procedures
- EMR: Epic (required)
- Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Siemens and Philips X-ray and hemodynamic systems
- 10-hour variable shifts, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM, 40 hours per week
- Weekend rotation required, approximately every other to every third weekend
- On-call coverage is 24 hours, with on-call expected approximately every other to every third night (1–2 times per week)
- Schedule is published every 4 weeks
- Active RN license issued by the South Dakota Board of Nursing or a Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a procedure area required
- Cath lab experience required
- Endovascular approach experience, including EVAR, required
- Experience with moderate sedation and GTT titration required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Completion of a board of nursing-approved nursing education program required
- ICU experience preferred
- Ideal candidate has experience in either Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology (IR) with specialization in endovascular cases
- Must reside at least 100 miles from any Monument Health facility to be eligible for this position
- Two professional references dated within the past year required for consideration
- DOB and SSN required for consideration
- Perform circulating and/or scrub nursing duties for complex open and endovascular vascular and structural cardiac procedures
- A charge nurse is available within the Cath Lab for support
- Orientation consists of a new employee orientation (NEO) followed by four 10-hour shifts in the first week with a preceptor
- May be expected to precept nursing students
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking is available on-site
- Every other holiday coverage is expected
- RTO requires manager approval
- The unit culture values flexibility and a willingness to learn
- First-time travelers will be considered based on skills review and management approval
