Description
American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2 years of experience for a 13-week cardiac cath lab assignment requiring ARRT certification and KY licensure.
Details
- Work in a facility with 2 cath labs and rotation in an EP lab
- Approximately 8–10 procedures performed per day
- Approximately 6–8 STEMI cases per month, with a required 30-minute response time for STEMI alerts
- Procedures include diagnostic and interventional cardiology cases using both radial and groin access, device implants (pacemakers, ICDs — single, dual, Bi-V), peripheral diagnostics and interventions, and EP ablations
- Devices and tools used include Shockwave, Balloon Pump, Impella, EKOS, Penumbra, and ACIST injector
- On-call team consists of 2 RNs and 1 Rad Tech
- Schedule follows a rotating 36/48-hour format — alternating between 3x12 and 4x12 shifts per week (84 hours per two-week period)
- Day shift hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with a rotating day off each week
- On-call expectation is 8–10 days per month, with one overnight call per week (5:30 PM–7:00 AM) and one weekend every 3 weeks (Friday 5:30 PM–7:00 AM, Saturday and Sunday 7:00 AM–7:00 AM)
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience required
- Active AHA BLS and AHA ACLS required
- ARRT certification required
- Active KY state or compact license required; candidates willing to apply for KY licensure upon offer will be considered — license required if applicable
- Must be willing to accept a rotating 36/48-hour weekly schedule; inability to accept this schedule may result in cancellation
- Must live at least 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Driver's license required for consideration; address must match permanent address
- 2 professional references required for consideration: 1 charge nurse or higher and 1 supervisor, both completed within the last year
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include table panning, scrubbing diagnostic and interventional cardiology cases, and assisting with device implants and specialized tools
- Cross-training in EP (ablations) is part of the role; EP experience is preferred but training is available
- Orientation is held bi-weekly
- Scrubs and lead apron are provided
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be considered; RTO must be disclosed upfront with no changes accepted after submission
- Travelers must work either a major or minor holiday during the assignment
- Travelers who have worked in this system for one year must take a minimum 6-month break before being eligible to return
- Holiday coverage is required — must work either a major or minor holiday
