American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at an academic medical center in Washington, DC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ER experience and active DC RN licensure.

• Level I Trauma Emergency Department at an academic medical center in Washington, DC
• Fast-paced ED treating a broad patient population including urgent care, psychiatric, pediatric, and critical care/trauma patients
• Nurses are expected to work in the trauma room as the bedside trauma RN
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Critical care skills utilized include medication titrations, arterial lines, massive blood transfusions, and chest tube management
• Cerner EMR experience required
• 13-week contract with 3x12-hour day shifts per week (36 hours/week)

• Active DC RN license required — no pending licenses accepted
• Active US SSN required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC — AHA-issued certifications only
• CPI certification required for this position
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience in a US hospital required
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
• BSN highly desired
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the previous 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer
• Date of birth required for consideration

• Coordinates and delivers care to patients with complex nursing needs, prioritizing patient safety, quality, and experience
• Candidates must reside more than 25 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
• No local candidates will be considered
