American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at an academic medical center in Washington, DC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ER experience and active DC RN licensure.
Details- Level I Trauma Emergency Department at an academic medical center in Washington, DC
- Fast-paced ED treating a broad patient population including urgent care, psychiatric, pediatric, and critical care/trauma patients
- Nurses are expected to work in the trauma room as the bedside trauma RN
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Critical care skills utilized include medication titrations, arterial lines, massive blood transfusions, and chest tube management
- Cerner EMR experience required
- 13-week contract with 3x12-hour day shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- Active DC RN license required — no pending licenses accepted
- Active US SSN required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC — AHA-issued certifications only
- CPI certification required for this position
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience in a US hospital required
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
- BSN highly desired
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the previous 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer
- Date of birth required for consideration
- Coordinates and delivers care to patients with complex nursing needs, prioritizing patient safety, quality, and experience
- Candidates must reside more than 25 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
