Truck Driver (Box- Local)

General Summary:

Transports raw materials and finished goods between production plants, warehouses, and distribution centers, ensuring timely, safe, and efficient deliveries. Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections, secure cargo using straps/chains, and maintain accurate electronic logs according to DOT regulations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Transport materials over long or short distances, often following strict production schedules.

· Secure loads to prevent damage and, in some positions, load/unload goods using forklifts or pallet jacks.

· Perform daily, mandatory pre-trip and post-trip inspections to report mechanical issues.

· Maintain electronic logging devices for hours of service, maintain, and submit shipping documents/manifests.

· Operates vehicles in compliance with DOT regulation and traffic laws.

· Ensure shipper is included for outgoing deliveries, and retrieved at pickup.

· Match shipper contents to load, make notes of exceptions

· Inspect loads for damage prior to loading and unloading. Make notes on shipper with any issues found.

· Responsible for cleanliness of company vehicles

· When there are no deliveries or pick up needs, other duties assigned by Materials Manger to be met.

Qualifications and Skills:

· Ability to manage time

· Scheduling experience

· Understanding manufacturing processes

· Ability to work in a team

Education and Experience:

· 5 years of commercial driving experience

· Active CDL (Class A or B) with a clean Motor Vehicle Record

· Previous manufacturing experience

· Experience in shipping/receiving

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8-10 hours daily, overtime/weekend support as needed. Position requires travel as well as work on the shop floor.
