Truck driver

Job Flatbed steel hauling,no coils. Monday- Friday, daytime shift. Home nightly. Assigned truck, small local company in business 33 yrs. Can work with someone willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a flatbed to transport freight across designated routes
• Load and ensuring proper securing of loads for safety during transit
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle condition, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and fluid levels
• Plan optimal routes for timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs for compliance and tracking purposes
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays
• Assist with routine vehicle maintenance or reporting mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime

Requirements

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements suitable for the vehicle types operated (e.g., tanker, flatbed)
• Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on freight delivery and route driving
• Proficiency in operating manual transmission Experience
• Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and transportation standards
• Strong commitment to safe driving practices and punctuality
• Physical ability to perform duties that may include lifting heavy loads and performing inspections
