We are seeking an experienced and strategic Transportation Manager to oversee both internal fleet operations and third-party transportation services across our North American network. This role is part of our Corporate Shared Services team and will lead transportation strategy, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in DOT compliance, fleet management, and 3PL/vendor oversight, with the ability to drive cost efficiencies and operational excellence.

Location: Union Grove as a base plus travel to other plants
Salary: 90k plus bonus
Hours: 1st shift but may vary depending on travel.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Fleet Management (DOT-Regulated)
- Manage DOT/FMCSA compliance programs, including driver qualification files, maintenance records, and audit readiness
- Oversee electronic logging devices (ELDs), driver safety, and vehicle maintenance
- Lead driver training, certification, and safety programs
- Monitor Hours of Service (HOS), CSA scores, and fleet audits
Dedicated Carrier Oversight
- Serve as primary liaison for dedicated contract services (trucks, trailers, drivers)
- Manage performance reviews, service metrics, and issue resolution
- Conduct cost analysis and optimize trailer utilization
- Lead quarterly business reviews
Commercial 3PL Management
- Act as corporate liaison for third-party logistics partners
- Monitor KPIs, service performance, and cost efficiency
- Conduct regular reporting and quarterly business reviews
- Ensure alignment with operational site needs
Strategic Transportation Leadership
- Develop and execute freight strategies across TL, LTL, intermodal, and parcel
- Lead TMS implementation and freight optimization initiatives
- Provide reporting, spend analysis, and KPI tracking to leadership
Cross-Border & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with U.S. DOT and Canadian transportation regulations
- Support customs, USMCA, and international shipping requirements
- Partner with legal/compliance teams on permits and documentation
Corporate Shared Services Support
- Support 12 sites with SOPs, tools, and process improvements
- Lead freight claim resolution and logistics escalation management
- Provide input on budgeting, forecasting, and customer solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, or related field
- 7 years of transportation leadership experience
- Strong background in DOT compliance and fleet operations
- Experience managing 3PLs (e.g., JB Hunt or similar partners)
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and vendor management skills
- Experience with TMS platforms, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel
- Cross-border (U.S./Canada) experience highly preferred
- CTP, CSCP, or DOT certification preferred
Work Environment & Travel
- Hybrid role with flexibility based on business needs. Home base Union Grove, WI.
- Travel up to 20–25% across U.S. and Canada sites
- Collaboration with operations, maintenance, and third-party partners
Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
