Quality Control Supervisor

American Bath Group
Elizabethtown, PA Full Time
POSTED ON 7/30/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 8/28/2026

1. Company Overview

American Bath Group is a leading North American manufacturer serving residential, new-construction, and commercial bathware markets through a broad portfolio of recognized brands. Across its manufacturing operations, ABG is focused on building better products, stronger relationships, and a better customer experience.

2. The Opportunity

The Elizabethtown operation is seeking a visible, energetic Quality Control Supervisor to strengthen daily inspection execution. The role is designed for a working leader who stays close to the product and the people doing the work - not someone who manages Quality primarily from reports or an office.

You will provide clear direction to inspectors, personally verify product-quality points, communicate concerns to the right teams, and follow issues through. You will also help build confidence in the Quality function through factual, professional interaction with Operations, customers, Sales, and vendors.

3. Success in Year One

By the end of the first year, the successful supervisor will have:

  • Established a dependable daily rhythm for inspector direction, floor coverage, escalation, and follow-through.
  • Made hands-on product verification a visible part of routine floor leadership.
  • Improved the speed and clarity with which quality concerns reach the people responsible for action.
  • Created a practical way to track inspector capability, coaching needs, progress, and accountability.
  • Built credibility with Operations and represented Quality professionally in customer-, Sales-, and vendor-facing discussions.
  • Demonstrated the ability to organize several priorities at once without losing visibility or closure.

4. The Mandate

Core mandate: Lead day-to-day Quality Control execution on the Elizabethtown production floor by directing and developing inspectors, personally verifying product quality, routing clear feedback to the appropriate teams, and representing Quality professionally with customers, Sales, and vendors.

In practical terms, you will:

  • Lead from the floor. Stay visible, observe inspection execution, check manufactured product, and respond when concerns emerge.
  • Direct and develop inspectors. Assign work, clarify expectations, give timely corrective feedback, coach capability gaps, and follow up on progress.
  • Keep quality communication moving. Identify the right owner, explain the issue clearly, define the next action, and maintain follow-through.
  • Manage competing priorities. Organize simultaneous floor demands, communicate status, and prevent issues from disappearing between functions.
  • Represent Quality credibly. Use facts, sound judgment, and professional communication with Operations, customers, Sales, and vendors.

5. Year One Critical Outcomes

  • Reliable inspection leadership. Inspectors receive clear daily direction, coverage needs are addressed, and open concerns are followed through.
  • Consistent product verification. The supervisor remains personally connected to product quality and defined inspection points as part of normal floor leadership.
  • Stronger inspector capability. Coaching, development needs, and accountability are documented and actively managed.
  • Faster, clearer feedback. Quality concerns are communicated to the responsible teams in a way that supports prompt action.
  • Trusted stakeholder communication. Quality discussions with plant partners, customers, Sales, and vendors are factual, professional, and appropriately escalated.
  • Visible operating control. Multiple priorities are organized and advanced without avoidable loss of follow-through.

6. Why This Role Is Hard

This is a stable operating environment, but the pace is real. Several production-quality needs may compete for attention at the same time. Success requires the energy to stay on the floor, the judgment to set priorities quickly, and the discipline to close loops.

The role also requires balance: you must be willing to inspect product yourself while still leading others; give direct feedback while maintaining trust; and communicate confidently with external and internal stakeholders without overstating facts or authority.

This is not an enterprise Quality Manager or continuous-improvement transformation role. It is a working-supervisor opportunity centered on excellent daily execution, inspector development, and professional quality communication.

7. Leadership Profile

The strongest candidate will be an Operator-Coach: a practical frontline leader who understands that credibility comes from being present, knowing the product, setting clear expectations, and helping the team improve. This person is visible and organized on the floor, direct and respectful when giving feedback, committed to inspector development, and calm and factual with plant partners, customers, Sales, and vendors.

8. Experience Requirements

Required

  • Hands-on Quality Control or inspection experience in a manufacturing environment, including personal product verification.
  • Experience directing inspectors or comparable frontline quality personnel, including work assignment, feedback, coaching, and accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage several priorities, communicate status, and follow issues through to closure.
  • Clear, professional communication with manufacturing partners and the maturity to represent Quality with customers, Sales, and vendors.
  • Functional basic computer skills for routine tracking and communication, plus the willingness and ability to work on-site in Elizabethtown and remain actively engaged on the production floor.

Preferred

  • Experience in building products, plastics, fiberglass/composites, bathware, or a comparable hands-on manufacturing process.
  • Exposure to practical corrective-action or root-cause methods.
  • Prior customer-quality, supplier/vendor, or Sales-support communication.
  • A working foundation in basic statistics.
  • Local or regional manufacturing experience and a durable connection to the Elizabethtown area.

9. Why the Right Candidate Will Be Excited

This is a visible step-up opportunity for a Quality Lead, Lead Inspector, senior Quality Technician, or experienced Quality Supervisor. Your leadership will be seen in how inspectors perform and develop; you will stay connected to product quality; and you will work closely with Operations under a clear mandate to strengthen daily execution and team capability.

10. Why This Role Matters

Every product that leaves the facility carries the work of the people who built and inspected it. This supervisor helps protect that work by preparing inspectors, addressing concerns promptly, and getting quality information to the right people - creating better outcomes for employees, plant partners, customers, and ABG brands.
