Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments using medical scheduling software
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or fees
- Maintain patient records and ensure all necessary documentation is accurate and up-to-date
- Assist with medical billing and coding tasks as needed
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy and confidentiality
- Coordinate referrals to specialists or other healthcare providers as directed by physicians
- Provide excellent customer service and address patient inquiries or concerns in a professional manner
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is required
- Proficiency in using office software, such as Microsoft Office Suite, eClinicalWorks ,
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, staff, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality
