Key Responsibilities
Incoming Inspection
- Inspect purchased components, electrical parts, mechanical assemblies, and raw materials.
- Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using calibrated measuring equipment.
- Verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and approved samples.
- Record inspection results and document nonconforming materials.
- Coordinate with Supplier Quality and Purchasing teams regarding quality concerns.
- Review Certificates of Conformance (CoC), inspection reports, and supplier documentation.
- Perform inspections throughout assembly and manufacturing processes.
- Verify correct installation of electrical, mechanical, and cosmetic components.
- Ensure work instructions, control plans, and quality standards are followed.
- Identify defects and communicate findings to production personnel and supervisors.
- Conduct final inspections of EV charging stations prior to shipment.
- Verify product functionality, labeling, safety features, and cosmetic appearance.
- Review test records and ensure all required quality documentation is completed.
- Approve products for shipment or initiate corrective actions for nonconforming units.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and quality reports.
- Document nonconformances using company quality systems.
- Assist with root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
- Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow ISO 9001 and company quality management system requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety and regulatory standards.
- Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Adhere to all workplace safety policies and procedures.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree or technical certification preferred.
- 2 years of quality inspection experience in manufacturing or electronics assembly preferred.
- Experience with electrical, mechanical, or EV charging products is a plus.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and inspection processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Proficient in the use of measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and electrical test devices.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform inspections for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Experience with EV charging systems, power electronics, or electrical assemblies.
- Experience using ERP and quality management software.
- ASQ Quality Inspector certification or equivalent training.
