Job Summary

The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and finished products ensuring that Alpitronic EV charging products and components meet Alpitronic quality standards, engineering specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory specifications. The position supports manufacturing excellence by identifying nonconformances, maintaining inspection records, and collaborating with production, engineering, and supplier quality teams to drive continuous improvement. The Quality Inspector plays a key role in maintaining product reliability, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Incoming Inspection

  • Inspect purchased components, electrical parts, mechanical assemblies, and raw materials.
  • Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using calibrated measuring equipment.
  • Verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and approved samples.
  • Record inspection results and document nonconforming materials.
  • Coordinate with Supplier Quality and Purchasing teams regarding quality concerns.
  • Review Certificates of Conformance (CoC), inspection reports, and supplier documentation.

In-Process Inspection

  • Perform inspections throughout assembly and manufacturing processes.
  • Verify correct installation of electrical, mechanical, and cosmetic components.
  • Ensure work instructions, control plans, and quality standards are followed.
  • Identify defects and communicate findings to production personnel and supervisors.

Final Product Inspection

  • Conduct final inspections of EV charging stations prior to shipment.
  • Verify product functionality, labeling, safety features, and cosmetic appearance.
  • Review test records and ensure all required quality documentation is completed.
  • Approve products for shipment or initiate corrective actions for nonconforming units.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate inspection records and quality reports.
  • Document nonconformances using company quality systems.
  • Assist with root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
  • Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Quality & Safety Compliance

  • Follow ISO 9001 and company quality management system requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety and regulatory standards.
  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Adhere to all workplace safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree or technical certification preferred.

Experience

  • 2 years of quality inspection experience in manufacturing or electronics assembly preferred.
  • Experience with electrical, mechanical, or EV charging products is a plus.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and inspection processes.

Required Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Proficient in the use of measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and electrical test devices.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform inspections for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to mechanical and electrical equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with EV charging systems, power electronics, or electrical assemblies.
  • Experience using ERP and quality management software.
  • ASQ Quality Inspector certification or equivalent training.
