Job Title: Software Engineer in Test
Location: Allen, TX (Hybrid – Tue, Wed, Thu onsite)
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Duration: 6 Months (Potential extension or conversion)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Software Test Engineer with expertise in VoIP applications and LMR systems. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about ensuring high-quality software through both manual and automated testing in Agile environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in Agile teams to improve software quality across the SDLC
- Review design and functional requirements; develop and present test plans
- Create and maintain test cases (functional, regression, performance)
- Partner with developers to ensure testability of features
- Identify automation gaps and enhance test automation frameworks
- Conduct log analysis and troubleshooting using tools like Wireshark
Core Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in software testing (manual/automation) within Agile frameworks
- 2 years of hands-on experience with:
- Windows Server environments
- Tools such as Python, PowerShell, Jenkins, Ansible, or Selenium
- Virtualization platforms (ESXi or RHEL-KVM)
- Networking protocols and troubleshooting
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps
- Strong ability to develop test plans and test cases (TestRail/Azure DevOps)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Push-to-Talk (PTT) radio systems (analog/digital)
- Knowledge of security practices (Nessus, system hardening, secure design reviews)
