Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Primavera P6 Scheduler for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Birmingham, Alabama. The Scheduler will support major utility projects and will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing detailed project schedules. This role requires strong collaboration with engineering, construction, procurement, and project management teams to ensure accurate planning, progress measurement, risk identification, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the overall milestone program, ensuring milestone definitions are clear and aligned with stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project schedules that support key milestones.
- Determine accurate schedule logic and constraints using input from task owners and project teams.
- Analyze critical and near-critical paths and lead review sessions with stakeholders.
- Generate schedule reports and analyze indicators based on the project execution plan.
- Identify major milestones, required approvals, and long-lead procurement items.
- Assess actual progress through on-site inspections and validate contractor reporting accuracy.
- Identify schedule deviations, gaps, trends, and proactively collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Monitor and report on all schedule deliverables.
- Conduct schedule review meetings with customers and internal teams.
- Present schedule status updates and support negative float resolution.
- Recommend corrective actions and develop recovery plans when delays occur.
- Manage schedule integration points across multiple interrelated projects.
- Prepare and present consolidated progress reports to program/senior leadership.
- Develop what-if schedule scenarios as needed.
- Document and communicate key lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
- Strong proficiency with Primavera P6.
- Proven experience developing and managing complex project schedules.
- Prior experience in electric utilities, power generation, or large-scale infrastructure preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Birmingham, AL, four days per week (local candidates only).
Salary : $58 - $77
