The ideal candidate enjoys owning revenue close processes under ASC 606 while also partnering closely with FP&A to help interpret the numbers and support strategic decision-making.
You’ll be hands-on in the close, deeply involved in revenue recognition, and equally comfortable stepping back to analyze trends, build forecasts, and support leadership with insights.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue & Accounting
- Own revenue recognition under ASC 606, including contract review, identification of performance obligations, revenue allocation, and timing of recognition
- Prepare and review revenue journal entries, deferred revenue roll-forwards, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Partner with Sales, Legal, and Operations to ensure accurate accounting treatment for new contracts and product offerings
- Lead month-end and quarter-end close activities related to revenue and related accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare financial statements and support GAAP compliance and internal controls
Financial Analysis & FP&A Support
- Conduct variance and trend analysis to identify key revenue drivers, risks, and opportunities
- Partner with FP&A on forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning, providing revenue data and insights to support strategic decisions
- Monitor revenue performance against forecasts and budgets, flagging issues and opportunities early
- Support leadership reporting with clear, actionable financial insights
Process Improvement & Scale
- Assist with process improvements, automation, and system enhancements as the company continues to scale
- Support external audits and revenue-related audit requests
- Help build scalable revenue accounting processes suitable for a fast-growing AI organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred
- 4–7 years of experience in revenue accounting, technical accounting, or a blend of accounting and financial analysis
- Strong working knowledge of ASC 606; SaaS or technology industry experience highly preferred
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems and BI tools a plus
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial insights to non-finance stakeholders
Why This Role
This is a standout opportunity for someone who wants more than a traditional accounting seat. You’ll gain exposure across both revenue accounting and FP&A, work closely with leadership, and play a key role in shaping the financial infrastructure of a rapidly scaling AI company. If you enjoy variety, visibility, and impact, this role delivers all three.
