With a focus on innovation, integrity, and client satisfaction, They are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant or Senior Auditor to join as a Senior Accountant. This role is expected to expand as the company grows and develop into a leadership role in 12 to 18 months!
You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and reports. Working closely with the Controller and finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and yearly financial audit. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in public accounting, financial management, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, industry regulations, and company policies.
- Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Corporate Accounting:
- Prepare both loan and corporate accounting journal entries for the monthly close for revenue and balance sheet.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Internal Controls:
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Monitor compliance with internal control policies and procedures.
- Identify and address control deficiencies.
- Audit Support:
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audit inquiries.
- Address audit findings and implement recommendations.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes for efficiency and accuracy.
- Recommend and implement best practices in financial reporting and controls.
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred but not required.
- Proven experience in the mortgage/lending industry or public accounting with financial service clients.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- 4 to 8 years post graduate experience
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (NetSuite a plus).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
Salary : $95,000 - $120,000
