Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Learn the fundamentals of tool and die maintenance, trouble shooting and die repair
- Read and interpret technical drawings
- Operate and maintain various machines and hand tools used in the trade
- Assist in the manufacturing machining area, press calls and die maintenance
- Inspect finished products and make necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy
- Collaborate with senior tool and die makers to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
- Trade school certification required
- Basic knowledge of math, including algebra and geometry
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Good dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and mechanical skills
- Willingness to work with heavy machinery and tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced tool and die makers, machinist and engineers
- Ability to bend, stoop, lift and move objects, occasionally lifting some objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- Stand on antifatigue matting and walk on concrete continuously throughout a (ten) 10-hour shift
