DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promotes and supports safety culture and ensures compliance with safety rules and regulations.
- Reviews job orders to determine work priorities. Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
- Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
- Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.
- Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
- Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
- Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
- Directs training and orientation of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.
- Prepares department budget and monitors expenditure of funds in budget.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED certificate required; bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.
- Three years of experience in maintenance operations within heavy industrial manufacturing operation preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- General knowledge of the inner workings of heavy industrial equipment reconditioning and repair.
- Ability to interpret drawings and use the required tools.
- Ability to speak and write English.
- Ability to effectively lead a team.
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
- Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, contractors, management, and employees.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and chemical systems.
- Ability to gather information and perform root cause analysis and problem-solving.
- Computer literacy skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
