Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

Boston, MA (4 days onsite / 1 day remote)

Full-Time

$150K – $200K base salary

About The Role

We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help design and build scalable backend systems that power critical business operations. This role blends hands-on development with architecture, cross-functional collaboration, and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs supporting business-critical systems and integrations
• Design and implement scalable data pipelines, automation, and workflows to improve operational efficiency
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, best practices, and mentorship
• Ensure reliability, performance, and security of backend systems as the platform scales
• Contribute to long-term technical strategy and identify opportunities for automation and optimization
  
  

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 5 years of backend software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern language (Java, Python, Go, etc.)
• Experience building and maintaining APIs, integrations, and middleware
• Solid understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and query optimization
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and distributed systems
• Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and deliver scalable solutions
• Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to a strong engineering culture
• Passion for leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity while maintaining high-quality standards
