What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Shipping & Receiving Clerk position at Alessi Bakeries?
Alessi Bakeries has been serving Tampa since 1912 and we are happy to announce that we are seeking to employ a Shipping and Receiving Clerk at our manufacturing plant. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk performs a variety of shipping and receiving tasks such as verifying materials received are as ordered and routes incoming items to appropriate departments. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will prepare items for shipping ensuring cost effective methods are used.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
- Responsible for finished good cycle counts and organized storage
- Confirm orders are pulled using the FIFO method
- Ensure shipments that require a certain shelf life are within acceptable date range
- Assist Packing in maintaining appropriate levels of packing material to avoid product shortages
- Operate sitting forklift
- Load and unload product off truck
- Count product received against packaging slip
- Inspect product when received to identify any damage and/or not below temp when necessary
- Ensure items are pulled correctly prior to shipping
- Label items on pallets including temp required when necessary
- Accountable for documents signed by drivers
- Pull and/or store inventory
- Verify all inbound and outbound shipments are accurate
- Adhere to all safety requirements
- Adhere to and enforce regulatory and compliance requirements
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Basic Math Skills
- Detailed oriented
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures
- Knowledge of operating a forklift
- Knowledge of safety and OSHA regulations
- Must be able to read and write English
- Must be able to work flexible hours
Language: Bilingual preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing plant environment (including freezers)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
