Position Summary
Alessi Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Plant General Manager to provide leadership and oversight of daily manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for driving operational performance, profitability, safety, quality, employee engagement, and continuous improvement while partnering with the President/CEO to execute the company's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations, including Production, Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Shipping & Receiving.
- Develop and execute short- and long-term operational strategies and goals.
- Manage plant budgets, labor costs, resources, and operational performance.
- Monitor KPIs, financial results, productivity, quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Lead, coach, and develop plant management and supervisory teams.
- Establish a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws, regulations, and safety requirements.
- Partner with HR on staffing, employee development, performance management, and workforce planning.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve processes, minimize waste, and increase productivity.
- Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to support company objectives.
Qualifications
- 7 years of progressive management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience as a Plant Manager, General Manager, Operations Manager, or similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, budgeting, cost control, and performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies that improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience leading and developing management and supervisory teams.
- Knowledge of safety, quality, and regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook; ERP/manufacturing system experience preferred.
- Food manufacturing experience preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in both an office and manufacturing plant environment.
- Ability to walk and stand throughout the facility and sit for extended periods.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically.
- Ability to wear required PPE and work in varying plant conditions.
