Job Title: Test & Commissioning Technician
Location: Plattsburgh, NY
Employment Type: Contract (Temp to Hire)
Industry: Transportation Manufacturing
Compensation: $30/hour, $0.75 shift differential for 2nd shift hours
Shift: 5x8, 1st & 2nd Shift (rotational), Monday-Friday
- 1st Shift: 6:00 AM-2:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: 2:00-10:30 PM
- Weekend overtime hours are available and voluntary
About the Opportunity:
We're seeking a hands-on Test Technician to support the testing, troubleshooting, and validation of advanced train systems in a cutting-edge rail environment. In this role, you'll work with electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems while collaborating closely with engineering teams, vendors, and technical specialists to ensure system reliability and performance.
What You'll Do:
- Support testing and troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic train systems
- Develop and document test procedures, reports, and technical findings based on engineering documentation and customer specifications
- Perform continuity, voltage, and current testing on train system wiring and components
- Troubleshoot and resolve wiring and network issues involving Ethernet, LAN, and CAN Bus systems
- Interface with engineering teams and vendors to resolve technical issues and improve system performance
- Upload software to train system components and support overall test operations

Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
- Associate's degree in an electrical or electronics technical field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience testing electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems
- Minimum of 2 years of experience troubleshooting wiring systems and network communications such as Ethernet, LAN, or CAN Bus
- Minimum of 2 years of experience utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
