Essential Job Functions
- Sweeps, mops, and scrub floors, stairs (inside/outside buildings) and other surfaces
- Cleans and services lavatories, and restrooms
- Cleans and dusts furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, door trims and chalkboards
- Vacuums rugs/carpet in offices and public areas; Shampoos rugs/carpets periodically using appropriate equipment
- Washes windowsills, glass in corridor doors, and trim in entrance doors
- Washes and/or cleans interior wall spaces
- Reports items in need of repair (doors, faucets, windows, etc.)
- Collects and places trash and debris in designated collection areas
- Other related duties, as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
One (1) year custodial care
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of commercial cleaning processes
Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures and strategies to promote effective cleaning and building maintenance
Knowledge of the use of chemicals, structure and properties of substances used in the daily operations of custodial duties
Attention
Ability to work within the overall organization of Facilities Management
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to express ideas effectively and concisely
