What are the responsibilities and job description for the JV/V Assistant Baseball Coach position at ALBIACSD?
A JV/Varsity assistant baseball coach supports the head coach to run practices, teach skills, and develop players for both junior varsity and varsity teams. This role helps build teamwork, keeps players safe, and prepares athletes to move up to higher levels of play.
- Practice Help: Set up drills and run practice plans with the head coach.
- Skill Teaching: Teach hitting, fielding, pitching, and base running rules.
- Game Support: Help make game choices, coach bases, and manage gear.
- Player Growth: Help players build good sports habits, discipline, and strong character.
- Student Care: Check that players follow school rules and keep up with their grades.
Job Rules
- Team Work: Follow the main plan set by the varsity head coach.
- Safety First: Watch players closely and teach safe ways to play.
- Travel Help: Ride with the team and supervise trips to away games.
What You Need
- Know the Game: Good understanding of baseball rules and skills.
- People Skills: Able to talk well with kids, parents, and school staff.
- Certifications: School coaching papers and first aid or CPR training as required by your local state rules.
