What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Assistant Track Coach position at ALBIACSD?
- Practice Support: Lead daily workouts and condition team members under the head coach's direction.
- Event Specialization: Train specific event groups, such as hurdles, relays, distance, or field events (throws and jumps).
- Meet Assistance: Manage athletes during track meets, track stats, and coordinate event staging.
- Student Monitoring: Check academic eligibility and promote good sportsmanship.
- Certification: Most states require a specialized coaching authorization, teaching license, or safety certification. In Iowa, for example, a BOEE Coaching Authorization and CPR certification are standard.
- Background Check: Fingerprinting and background clearances are mandatory for working with student-athletes.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with state athletic association rules (such as the IHSAA or IGHSAU) and basic first aid
