Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is a summertime seasonal position limited to 100 days of employment between May 1st and September 30th.
The brushing crew is responsible for clearing brush from AEL&P and Snettisham property and assets. The brushing crew is also responsible for general maintenance tasks the Generation Foreman assigns.
KEY or ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Working as a team to complete an assigned task in a reasonable amount of time. Operating motor-vehicles and brush clearing equipment in a professional and safe manner.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
Travel to remote locations for days at a time to complete assigned work, this will involve overnight stays and travel in either single engine aircraft or helicopter.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a full-time student aged 18 or older and possess a valid driver’s license and be able to be insured under AEL&P’s insurance policy. Applicants must be willing to release their driving records to AEL&P prior to offer of employment.
EQUIPMENT UTILIZED:
Motor-vehicles, brush clearing equipment, power tools and hand tools.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
To meet all the expectations of this position you will need to be able to lift 70 lbs. without assistance and be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in all types of weather. You must be able to operate brushing equipment for extended periods of time while working on uneven terrain. This position will involve hiking several miles while packing equipment and supplies over steep terrain.

SALARY:
Hourly wage of 45% of the current IBEW Journeyman Wage per the Agreement between AELP and IBEW Local #1547.
