Akkodis is seeking a for a Procurement Specialist at Location: Alameda, CA for a contract Duration: 6-Month.
Pay Range: $40/h- $44/h; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
About the Role
We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to join the Strategic Sourcing & Procurement (SS&P) team. This role will provide support to Category Leaders and Managers, assisting with purchasing activities across multiple business areas including R&D, Clinical, IT, Commercial, and G&A. You will play a key role in vendor management, contract execution, and procurement operations while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support end‑to‑end review of Statements of Work (SOWs), budgets, and payment schedules.
- Assist in contract development and execution using the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system.
- Prepare purchase requisitions and coordinate with Legal and business owners to ensure contract terms meet requirements.
- Gather market intelligence and support vendor evaluation activities (RFIs, RFPs, bid defense meetings).
- Coordinate meetings with stakeholders and suppliers; manage vendor capability presentations and demos.
- Provide order follow‑up and communication to requestors; resolve accounts payable and receiving discrepancies.
- Support quarterly vendor accruals, forecasting, and embedded lease reviews.
- Contribute to procurement projects and process improvements as needed.
Qualifications
- Education:
- BS/BA degree in a related discipline with 5 years of experience, OR
- Master’s degree with 3 years of experience, OR
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Skills & Experience:
- Background in pharmaceutical or biotech industry preferred.
- Strong customer service skills, integrity, and accountability.
- Experience with ERP/purchasing systems (SAP preferred).
- Knowledge of vendor risk management and market intelligence tools.
- Strong analytical, data management, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage details, and collaborate across functions.
- Familiarity with compliance requirements (Legal, SOX, Tax, Accounting).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
