Overview
Temporary Procurement Specialist to support the Strategic Sourcing & Procurement team by partnering with category managers on purchasing and sourcing activities across the organization. The role supports SOW/contract workflows, purchase requisitions, vendor evaluations, stakeholder/supplier coordination, and issue resolution while contributing to vendor accrual/forecasting.
Responsibilities
- Support the Category Management and Sourcing team in procurement activities related to purchasing materials, equipment, and services within the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
- Review and manage end-to-end contract workflows including SOW, budgets, and payment schedules using the Legal Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system.
- Assist in preparing Purchase Requisitions and liaise with Legal and Business Owners to ensure vendor contracts meet business needs.
- Gather market intelligence and analyze trends to support category managers/leaders.
- Support vendor evaluation activities such as RFIs and RFPs, and communicate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate meetings, bid defenses, and presentations; follow up on orders and resolve discrepancies in accounts payable and receiving.
- Support quarterly vendor accrual and forecasting processes, and assist with procurement projects as required.
Requirements
- BS/BA degree in a related discipline with five (5) years of related experience, or Master’s degree with three (3) years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience preferred in the pharmaceutical and/or biotech industries.
- Exceptional customer service skills and a strong work ethic.
- High integrity, responsibility, and thoroughness in work activities.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work with internal teams and external suppliers.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, experience with ERP and purchasing systems required; SAP software proficiency preferred.
- Knowledge of market intelligence and vendor risk management tools.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adhere to cross-functional procedures (Legal, Compliance, Accounting, SOX, Tax, etc.).
