Process Technician

Akkodis is seeking a Process Technician for a full-time position with a client in St. Joseph, MO. The ideal candidate will have hands-on plastic blow molding experience with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and processing issues. This position will be based at the St. Joseph facility and will provide blow molding technical support and training to other U.S. locations as needed.

Salary Range: $60,000–$80,000 per year. The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Process Technician Job Responsibilities Include:

• Improve blow molding quality, equipment performance, cycle times, and energy usage.
• Calculate material consumption and establish processing parameters for all products, including IBCs and drums.
• Complete administrative and reporting activities related to blow molding operations.
• Support and reinforce plant policies and procedures for proper blow molding techniques.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment.
• Train new blow molding operators and technicians in proper mechanical and electrical troubleshooting techniques through hands-on and classroom instruction.
• Provide ongoing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and processing support to blow molding technicians and operators through onsite visits and offsite assistance.
• Support plant projects involving software upgrades, blow mold tooling, new machine installations, and other equipment improvements.
• Help ensure each site maintains an accurate spare-parts register containing the necessary parts for its blow molding department.
• Communicate issues that could affect production to the appropriate stakeholders to help maintain required production targets.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with plastic blow molding machinery and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and process troubleshooting.
• Experience setting machine parameters and improving quality, cycle time, equipment performance, and energy usage.
• Ability to calculate material consumption and maintain accurate process documentation.
• Experience training operators and technicians in equipment operation and troubleshooting.
• Ability to provide technical support both onsite and remotely.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and reporting skills.
• Ability to travel to other U.S. locations as needed.
