Accounts Payable Analyst

Akkodis is seeking an Accounts Payable Analyst for a Contract job with a client in San Rafael, CA. Ideally looking for applicants with a solid background in Accounts Payable, account reconciliations, invoice processing, and month-end close activities.

Rate Range: $35/hour to $38/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors

Accounts Payable Specialist job responsibilities include:

• Manage account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies across AP and related accounts
• Review and process complex Accounts Payable transactions while ensuring adherence to company policies
• Determine the root cause of invoice and supplier issues by submitting and tracking IT tickets, initiating meetings, and collaborating with internal support teams to resolve invoicing concerns
• Serve as backup to the AP Mailbox Coordinator during absences
• Assist with month-end close activities, including clearing account discrepancies and performing variance analysis
• Investigate AP exceptions, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions
• Support the AP Manager in refining processes and improving reporting accuracy
• Develop and document best practices for reconciliation processes and AP workflows
• Complete special projects and additional tasks assigned by management

Desired Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
• 1–2 years of Accounts Payable experience
• Strong knowledge of core accounting principles and Accounts Payable processes
• Understanding of internal control concepts, including segregation of duties, verification, and security
• Ability to diagnose, isolate, and resolve issues while recommending effective solutions
• Experience with Oracle and/or SAP is a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
• High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
