System Administrator

Akkodis is seeking a System Administrator for a Contract with a client in Secaucus, NJ. The candidate specializes in managing clustered environments and ensuring stable operations through advanced OS log analysis.

Rate Range: $37/hour to $45/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

System Administrator Job Responsibilities Include

• Manage and administer OpenVMS operating systems, including complex clustered environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Configure, deploy, and maintain HPE BL870/BL890 blade servers, Virtual Connect domains, and C7000 enclosures.
• Perform firmware upgrades for servers, enclosures, and related hardware components to maintain compliance and stability.
• Conduct deep analysis of OpenVMS system and crash logs to troubleshoot performance issues, slowness, and system failures.
• Support VMS Billing and GESS Booking administration, ensuring smooth operational workflows.
• Provide ongoing system monitoring, optimization, and incident resolution for enterprise-class OpenVMS environments.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in OpenVMS system administration, preferably in enterprise and clustered environments.
• Strong hands-on expertise in managing OpenVMS clusters, including advanced troubleshooting through detailed OS log analysis.
• Proven experience configuring and maintaining HPE BL870/BL890 blades, Virtual Connect domains, C7000 enclosures, and performing related firmware upgrades.

Pay Details: $37.00 to $45.00 per hour
