Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI (Hybrid). The candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, and scaling self‑running ML and Generative AI systems that solve complex business problems across structured and unstructured data.

Rate Range: $75/hour to $80/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Senior Machine Learning Engineer Job Responsibilities Include

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable machine learning and Generative AI solutions, including LLM‑based architectures, RAG pipelines, and fine‑tuned foundation models.
• Automate and optimize the end‑to‑end ML lifecycle, covering data preparation, experimentation, training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Build self‑running, production‑grade ML systems for use cases such as NLP, conversational AI, computer vision, and intelligent automation.
• Develop supporting services and APIs (e.g., FastAPI) to expose ML and GenAI capabilities to downstream applications and platforms.
• Collaborate with data engineering, product, and cloud teams to ensure scalable, secure, and cost‑efficient ML solutions on GCP.
• Apply best practices in prompt engineering, model tuning, version control, and containerization to ensure reliability and continuous improvement of AI systems.
  
  

Required Qualifications: GCP (Google Cloud Platform) experience or knowledge required for this role.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a closely related technical field.
• 8 years of hands‑on development experience, with 10 years overall IT experience in ML, AI, or advanced analytics roles.
• Proven expertise in designing and deploying Generative AI solutions, including LLMs, RAG architectures, vector databases, and prompt engineering in production environments.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Python, SQL, cloud‑native ML platforms on GCP, and building scalable APIs and ML systems using tools such as FastAPI, Docker, and Git.

Pay Details: $75.00 to $80.00 per hour
