Middleware Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Middleware Engineer for a Contract with a client in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate with deep proficiency in traditional middleware technologies, capable of designing robust integration solutions across diverse systems.

Rate Range: $45/hour to $49/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Middleware Engineer Job Responsibilities Include

• Design, develop, and maintain middleware solutions to ensure smooth communication and data flow between enterprise systems.
• Install, configure, and manage middleware platforms such as IIS, Tomcat, and Apache, performing regular health checks and system tuning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve middleware-related issues, conducting root-cause analysis to minimize impact on business-critical processes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and efficient knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with developers, admins, network, and security teams to support integration and deployment of new applications.
• Implement automation for middleware deployment and configuration while continuously monitoring and optimizing system performance.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6–8 years of hands-on experience in middleware engineering and system integration.
• Strong proficiency with IIS, Tomcat, and Apache, including configuration, security, and performance tuning.
• Experience in troubleshooting complex middleware issues and supporting cross‑functional teams.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $49.00 per hour
